This machine is basically a Swiss Army knife for road maintenance. Having one machine that handles five functions not only saves us time—it saves money and manpower.
We were initially told this project might take 10 to 12 months. Thanks to the Pothole Pro, we're now on track to finish in under six months—by August. That's half the time we expected.
We didn't know if our investment—let's just say it wasn't cheap as it was in seven figures—would pay off. Four months later, we're calling it what it is: a smart move in a cut-throat business where efficiency rules.
"This machine is basically a Swiss Army knife for road maintenance," says Denis Labelle, VP of Operations at All Roads. "It has an excavating bucket, a 160-degree swivel, milling and sweeping heads, and grappling grips for debris removal. It replaces multiple machines."
In a city like Vancouver, where many neighborhood streets and back alleys are tight and hard to access, that versatility is invaluable.
"To do this project without the Pothole Pro would've meant bringing in multiple machines for each job. Multiply that by 1,800 locations, and you're looking at a logistical nightmare," Labelle adds. "Having one machine that handles five functions not only saves us time—it saves money and manpower."
Considering how many pieces of equipment and how much labor we would've needed otherwise, the return on our investment is obvious. We're ramping up production, slashing mobilization costs, and streamlining our operations across the board.
"In our view, this investment has already paid off," says Labelle with a chuckle. "Even Warren Buffett might agree with us."
