This is the year of fives for our asphalt plant: it is now five years in the making, with a recent upgrade to five storage silos, in the year 2025. A fun observation aside, this fortuitous alignment is, to us, a sign of our burgeoning success. A project to expand our asphalt plant is currently underway and with two new silos plus a massive oil tank added, the All Roads Asphalt Plant is set to have the largest storage capacity in the Vancouver area.

Adding 70% more silo storage will ensure that we are able to supply up to five different mixes at the same time while allowing us to still meet our high production requirements on the major projects that we serve.

After five years of successfully operating our plant to support our major projects and build our FOB customer sales, it is now time to upgrade and optimize our plant to better serve our customers and internal projects. This winter, we are adding two asphalt silos and increasing our asphalt oil storage.

Operating on a 24/7 basis certainly has its advantages—namely, the accessibility it offers our customers to pick up asphalt at any time they choose. However, there can be a lot of friction between our external and internal customer demands during the busiest seasons. During these times, there is pressure to keep short cycle times at the plant and it's challenging to ensure that all our customers have timely access to the correct asphalt mixes they need.

As All Roads continues to grow in business, there is a need to expand our operations in order to maintain the standard of excellence that we have always offered and that our customers have come to expect. Adding 70% more silo storage will ensure that we are able to supply up to five different mixes at the same time while allowing us to still meet our high production requirements on the major projects that we serve. As well, All Roads is doubling our liquid asphalt storage, which will allow us to service all our traditional asphalt projects and customers at the same time that we are servicing the Ministry of Transportation, Marine Port and Airport Projects. These latter three often involve specialized liquid binders, such as polymer-modified and stiffer asphalt binders.

Stay tuned for the completion of this project and look forward to quicker cycle times at our plant!
